The HoldNote Queue

HoldNote is a one-person studio that writes and produces custom on-hold messages, voicemail greetings, and phone-menu scripts for small businesses — the kind of audio a dentist's office or an HVAC company plays to callers waiting on the line. It started as a favor: Dana Ruiz, a decade into producing radio audio, recorded three lines for a friend's dental practice one Sunday afternoon, and callers started commenting on it. Eighteen months and roughly sixty clients later, that favor is a business, but Dana still does every part of it personally — taking the intake call, writing the script that evening, recording the voiceover the next morning. That closeness is exactly what clients pay for, but it also means every new client is a fixed block of Dana's hours, and growth right now looks like turning away referrals rather than taking them on.
